£40,000-£45,000 (pro rata)
Based in Slough, Berkshire (Slough is accessible by train or by road with easy access to the M4).
Thanks to a generous grant, the Trustees of Space Counselling Service are able to appoint a Chief Executive Officer to help move the charity forward. This post is fixed for two years.
Space Counselling Service is a Slough based charity which provides counselling and group therapy to some of Slough’s most vulnerable residents. We are the only charity in Slough to offer such services and as the majority of our clients are in receipt of benefits; our service represents the only place that they can turn to for professional help and support.
We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and motivated individual who can lead our organisation into the next phase of its development on a four day a week basis. The individual will bring a strong background in strategy and governance and be confident in delivering change management; they will also have experience of fundraising and marketing. The successful candidate will be someone who can work with people from all sectors of the community, build links and help move the service forward so that it can enjoy a stronger and more secure future. We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of counselling services and a strong empathy with mental illness. Space Counselling Service is based within the most deprived area of the town and as such a suitable candidate will be someone who is comfortable working within a deprived area, and who is really prepared to get involved with the community.
